D is for Dinosaur

Happy Monday!  The little Munchkin LOVES dinosaurs.  He loves to roar, he loves to stomp, he was even a dinosaur for Halloween last year.  It was high time for us to have a Dinosaur themed week.  Here's what we used for our Dino letter craft:
  • Red construction paper for the background
  • Green construction paper for the spines
  • White printer paper for the teeth
  • Black construction paper & white printer paper for the eye
  • Green construction paper for the D

Egg Carton Bouquet

As part of our Earth Week celebration, we incorporated some recycled materials.  These egg carton flowers have been around since I was little (and probably my mom before that), but they're tried, true and a perfect use of one of our egg cartons left over from Easter:

I let Munckin go to town with the watercolors, then we (I) just broke them apart and pushed in a pipe cleaner.  Couldn't be easier and the Munckin loves his lil bouquet :)

Truck Fill & Dump Activity

Here is our Dump Truck Fill & Dump Activity. Munchkin used a few shovels to scoop the navy beans into the dump truck. Once the dumper was full, he drove the truck over to the bowl and dropped off his load:

Truck Tire Painting

Here's a few pictures of our Truck Tire painting.  This could not be simpler - I just raided Munchkin's toy trucks and picked out a few with interesting tires.  Then I put some finger paint out and let him paint away.  He was initally interested in driving the trucks through the paint, but after awhile he just wanted to finger paint :)

T is for Truck

Happy Monday!  This week's theme is Trucks, so naturally that's what appeared in our letter craft today.  Peanut is starting to get into actually glueing the pieces of our collages down (as opposed to telling me where to glue them).  Here's what we used for our Truck:
  • Blue construction paper for the background
  • Red construction paper for the truck cab
  • Orange construction paper for the truck dumper
  • Black construction paper for the wheels
  • White printer paper for the T

Planting Herbs

One of our Easter theme activities this week was planing Easter (aka wheat) grass.  Alas, I could not find wheat grass seeds, but I did pick up an assortment of herbs for our windowsill herb garden.
